We are excited to start your journey with us and highlight that the course is an opportunity to learn. To provide the best opportunity and experience for everyone, we require that you read and abide by our Code of Conduct as a condition of participation in both our workshops, Zoom sessions, and any other medium we encourage or facilitate communication in connection to our courses.

The purpose of our Code of Conduct is to communicate the expectations we have for all participants in the course and includes policies regarding how individuals should conduct themselves and interact with each other to ensure a respectful, positive, and supportive learning environment.

Code of Conduct

We promote and support inclusion, encourage diversity of thought and skills, and share a commitment to being our best selves with all participants. 

We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all participants; one which is free from discrimination, unfair judgment, and harassment.

Our Code of Conduct applies throughout the entire course, including:

·       Any meetings and activities in person or online, such as Zoom meetings or in-person classes;
·       Any interaction with other participants and instructors in the course that occur outside meeting or class hours; and
·       Any communications with participants and instructors in the course via any means, including email, messaging and social media channels.

At all times, we expect all participants in the course to:

1)     communicate with respect and using appropriate language (please avoid swearing in official course classes or Zoom meetings to respect all participants’ values);
2)     acknowledge and understand that participants from all backgrounds and experience will attend, and that all questions are valid questions;
3)     avoid using judgemental language towards other participants;
4)     listen to all participants when they are speaking or presenting, please avoid cutting off or speaking over participants;
5)     demonstrate respect for people’s beliefs, culture, identity, names, and pronouns;
6)     behave honestly and with integrity;
7)     act with care and diligence;
8)     treat everyone with respect and courtesy and without harassment of any kind;
9)     comply with all applicable Australian laws;
10)  not provide false or misleading information that others may rely on;
11)  maintain appropriate confidentiality;
12)  use resources and information to in a proper manner, protecting the IP of The Hosting Masterclass & avoiding conflicts of interest; and
13)  refrain from negative comments, assumptions, and stereotyping of people on the basis of their gender identity, gender expression, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, socio-economic status, disability, religion, beliefs, age, accent or culture.

Breaches to code of conduct

Any potential breaches or failure to abide by our Code of Conduct will be taken seriously. If you do not comply with our Code of Conduct, we may, at our sole discretion, remove you from activities such as Zoom meetings or otherwise restrict your access to future sessions and activities without any refund to you.

Please note that the course and activities within the course (such as Zoom meetings) are ticketed events, and only ticketholders may attend. We reserve the right to revoke your ticket for attendance as per our Workshop Participant Terms.

How to report a potential breach of the code of conduct

Any suspected breach of the Code of Conduct should be reported to The Hosting Masterclass, via email.

Acknowledgement

Upon purchasing a ticket to The Hosting Masterclass, you will be asked to acknowledge you have read this Code of Conduct and confirm your understanding that you are required to comply with the behaviours outlined in this Code of Conduct by responding via email.
